Zeal for Green Burial on Earth Day

One of my favourite words is “Zeal”. Samuel Johnson defines Zeal as “Passionate Ardour For Any Cause.”

Please pause momentarily and remember when you first heard of Green Burial and how far you have come on your personal and perhaps shared journey – learning and hopefully inspiring others, and sharing your Zeal to make a Positive Environmental Difference for this place we call home. Think of the folks you’ve talked to, but more importantly, remember your emotional Zeal as you spoke.

In our own way, big and small, we are flag bearers to bring awareness of the environmental value of Green Burial to the people and organizations we meet.

Not just the neighbour over the fence, but anyone who, as part of their lives, works to improve the planet in their areas of expertise and influence. You never know where the next great environmental inspiration will come that will add to your Zeal for Green Burial.

I’m amazed at the number of like-minded people I meet from whom I gain valuable inspiration. People not necessarily related to the funeral industry, but people willing to share their stories and how they work within their business or industry, or think outside the box, to put new ideas into practice.

You may know people in other environmental organizations with whom you can share your challenges and successes with environmental work. They can be as local as the small business owner to a senior manager in a business with a national or global presence.

I’ll say it again: you never know where the next great environmental inspiration will come that will add to your Zeal for Green Burial.

We are grateful to each of you for your interest in what truly defines your environmental legacy – Green Burial. It’s a testament to what you believe and your Zeal to share and inspire others.
