Leaving a positive legacy as a funeral professional

In a world where every choice we make has environmental implications, my decision to join the Green Burial Society of Canada was an easy decision. Knowing that in a time of loss, families benefit from having different death care options. Opting for a green burial isn’t just about a final resting place or permanent placement; it’s a conscientious choice for someone to reduce their ecological footprint and to encourage the natural restoration of the land.

More traditional burial practices may be resource-intensive and consist of placing unnatural products like plastics and metals into the earth.  The Green Burial Society of Canada promotes a simpler and more practical alternative, by using biodegradable caskets or shrouds and encouraging more natural processes and the conservation of land. By choosing this path, people not only embrace a more sustainable end-of-life option, but also contribute to the preservation of our planet.

Being part of the Green Burial Society of Canada is my way of leaving a positive legacy as a funeral professional. This ensures that even in death, families have options they can feel at peace with, and even through a difficult time, experience a special feeling of fulfillment by participating in a meaningful movement.
